Self-appreciation

This practice helps you notice and value your own strengths, qualities, and personal growth.

1. Settle In

Sit comfortably.
Take a few slow breaths.
Close your eyes if it feels comfortable.
Let your attention turn inward.

2. Notice What You Appreciate

Quietly ask yourself:

  • What do I genuinely appreciate about myself?
  • What are two or three qualities I value in who I am?

Let your answers arise naturally.
You don’t need to share them with anyone.
Allow yourself to be honest and kind.

3. Acknowledge Support

Reflect on the people who may have helped you grow these qualities:
friends, family, teachers, mentors, authors, or others.
Silently send them gratitude.
Notice how your strengths are connected to care you have received.

4. Let It Sink In

Rest with the feeling of appreciation.
Allow yourself to “taste” what you value about yourself.
Let it warm and support you from within.

5. Close Gently

Take one slow breath.
Return to your day carrying this sense of self-respect.

You can offer yourself this practice whenever self-doubt or harsh self-judgment appears.
